Swatches: Stila Lip Glaze in Splendor and Jingle

This post is a continuation of my swatches from the Stila All is Bright Lip Glaze Set
Original Post Here
First set of Swatches Here

Stila Jingle (It's a nice orangey-pink in the tube and hand swatch)

Stila Jingle (Turns more pink and less orange on my lips.

Stila Splendor (This is a very sheer pink with pink sparkles)

Stila Splendor (Adds some nice shine to my lips)

Overall I'm really starting to enjoy them. After acquiring some more pigmented lipglosses (eg. MAC lipglosses). And although at the beginning I was not happy about the small size (1.5ml in each tube), I like that I can finish a tube in about a month. Which is the perfect time before I want to experiment with another color.

I would definitely recommend picking up these next time it comes out in a set. It's only $25 for 8 lip glazes! And I think that's an extremely good value. Do you guys get full size products? Or like to try things through value sets?

Swatches: Golden Brown Eyeshadow

I have this one Almay trio that has only one color left and I was trying to find a dupe for it so that I can justify tossing it out. Surprisingly I couldn't find a color that was very similar. But in the process, I did pull out and swatch all the golden brown eyeshadows I have. Maybe this will help you in picking your next eyeshadow shade! Take a look

From Top to Bottom:

Rimmel Smokey Brun

UD Toasted

UD Chopper

UD Smog

Almay color trio

Too Faced Ever After

UD Darkhorse

I noticed that the UD/Too Faced shadows have more sheen compared to the drugstore eyeshadows. The Almay one is very pigmented but the Rimmel one is slightly less pigmented and the texture is harder.

Hopefully this is helpful to some of you for deciding whether to buy a new shade or not!

Collective Haul

Make Up

In my recent trip to Las Vegas, I went to Sephora to find some goodies. Surprsingly I had pretty good self restraint and only picked up two things!

1) Jasmine Nail Polish Collection: I thought I didn't have similar colors but when I got home I realized I had dupes for almost all of them! Will do a post on that soon.

2) Benefit's Most Glamorous Neturals: I wanted a smaller neutral palette than my UD naked palette. But once I came back to Vancouver I realized I really didn't need it so I returned it.

Clothes

In Las Vegas, I also bought two pairs of shoes from Nine West Outlet. I was planning on doing a lot of shopping but unfortunately there wasn't too much to buy.

Once I came back, I had to go shopping for some work clothes. I'm starting my internship in two weeks! Here's my new business casual pieces! Let me know of any good outfits you wear in the office!
The first three pictures are from Dynamite and the last one is from Forever 21

*Also grabbed a F21 makeup wipe along the way*

Gifts
Lastly, Happy Mother's Day to everyone! I got my mom some yummy drink mixers and a gift card to Home Sense. I've been buying her perfume, makeup, flowers, jewelry so I thought I'd change it up a bit! What are you guys doing for Mother's Day?

Review: ELF Studio Blush in Twinkle Pink

This is a review on the ELF haul I did back in January for their Studio Blush in Twinkle Pink. Many people rave about the ELF blush and how it's a dupe for NARS blushes. But for me this was not a winner.

Sleek black packaging

Close up of the color

You can see the gold glitter in the color.

Blush + TM on the right side (of the picture).

Twinkle Pink on Cheeks

Pros
  • The price- it's only $3
  • The packaging
Cons
  • Too much glitter
  • Powder flies everywhere when you apply it
  • Not too much pigmentation
Recommendations
Overall it's not a bad blush but I hate it because I hate glitter. The other annoying thing about this blush is that a lot of powder flies up when you dip your brush in making the application super messy. Also, I can't really get the color to show up on my cheeks.
However, if you like glitter this could be a great choice if you are just starting with makeup.

I always hear about how these blushes are nicely pigmented, is it just me that's getting bad ELF products?

Winner of Elizabeth Arden Perfume

This is a long over due post but recently I won a giveaway!!! Yay exciting right? This is my first time ever winning from a beauty giveaway :):)

It was an Elizabeth Arden contesst and I won their Green Tea Honeysuckle perfume. Lisamarie from Beauty Crazed shipped it right away and was kind enough to check up to see if I received it. Check out her site here! http://www.beautycrazed.ca/

From the box

There were these GIGANTIC bubble wraps and I was really excited about those too! Who likes popping bubble wraps?

I actually have the original Green Tea version at home in a 30mL bottle, the prize is a 50mL bottle. I bought the original Green Tea perfume around 5 years ago when I was still in high school. It was one of my favorite scents because it's sooo refreshing!

The honeysuckle is a nice twist on the original with a bit of sweet flavor. I can't wait to start wearing it in the summer. Thanks again Lisamarie!!

Have you guys won any giveaways before?

Trip to Las Vegas

Hi Lovelies!

I just came back from a 5 day vacation to Las Vegas with my boyfriend and it was so much fun! It's so exciting to travel and explore a new place. I can't wait to do my exchange term in Hong Kong University later this year!

We had lots to eat, and lots of fun gambling on penny slots!

Here are some random photos I'd like to share!

Inside Bellagio

View of the Strip

Inside Caesar's Palace

Aria's Zarkana

Inside Wynn

Makeup wise, I was pretty simple everyday with a wash of color and some mascara. But for going out at night, I piled on quite a bit of eyeshadow. Unfortunately it didn't quite show up (as usual), but I was quite happy with how it turned out. See picture below. All eyeshadows were from the Naked palette.

I picked up two things from Sephora on the trip and I will do a haul post soon. What are your summer vacation plans?! Have you been to Vegas before? I'd love to hear about it.
